The Most Beautiful and Ugliest Cars on Copart & IAAI

Last edit: September 01 2025 • 1294 view

Recently, I was looking for a car and realized something: some cars look much more expensive than they really are. And it’s a great feeling to own a car that looks amazing. On the other hand, there are cars you just don’t want to look at – even if they’re reliable and functional.

I personally checked what’s available on insuranse auto auctions and created our ranking of the most beautiful and the ugliest cars at Copart salvage auctions and IAAI car auctions

Let’s take a look at some of the ugliest ones:

5th place: Lincoln MKT

Thick-hipped, big-nosed, and oddly shaped. A Lincoln station wagon trying to pass as a crossover… and nobody cares. A nice interior can’t hide the fact that it looks like a xenomorph showing its teeth and a beached whale at the same time. Its goofy proportions are just strange.

4th place: Nissan Juke

The design is abnormal. It was different back then and still stands out today. Some people don’t even find it ugly – they think it’s pretty. But that’s a personal choice. While not a bad car mechanically, it remains one of the most controversial auction vehicles. On Copart online auctions, these cars are common, and because of their controversial looks, you can sometimes buy them at a very low price.

3rd place: Tesla Cybertruck

Yes, the truck Elon built deserves to be here. The Tesla Cybertruck has divided the car world since day one. A brutalist triangle on wheels that can rust in the rain. What a marvel! This car trades beauty for power and has as much warmth as a battering ram or a sheet of metal. Perfect for a zombie apocalypse – so maybe it makes sense to buy one, haha.

2nd place: Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid

The Clarity’s design is intentionally uneven – coupe-like roof, sharply sloped rear, odd rear arches, and a deep insert between the taillights. It feels like Honda’s design team wanted to stand out but ended up rushing to finish on a Friday night. Probably the ugliest Honda ever – that’s why they’re cheap. On IAAI salvage auctions, you’ll see Clarity models selling much cheaper than other hybrids like the Toyota Prius. Still, it’s a smart buy for those who want great electric mileage and don’t mind a smaller trunk.

1st place: Pontiac Aztek

This is the undisputed king of ugly cars. No surprises here. Consumer Reports tested it at night because the staff was embarrassed to be seen driving it. The Aztek is its own category of WTF. Not even Breaking Bad could save it. A good idea ruined by forcing it onto a minivan chassis. Well, these cars don’t look great – but that’s actually the upside. They sell for very low prices, so if looks don’t matter to you, you can save BIG.

Now, let’s take a look at the Beautiful list: cars that turn heads and make you proud every time you drive. These are the most beautiful cars you can buy at salvage car auctions, often for 30-40% less than retail price.

5st place: Toyota Camry XV70

An aggressive front end, a rare case when a Camry looks bold. This might be the most stylish Camry in history. An excellent car for its price. At Copart salvage auctions, many of these come with light damage, making them a perfect choice for rebuilding and enjoying a premium look at a low cost.

4st place: Volkswagen CC

Praised for “premium looks at an affordable price.” Beauty can be accessible. It’s elegant, sleek, and still looks premium even years later. For buyers at IAAI car auctions, the CC is a great way to own a stylish European sedan without paying Audi or BMW money.

3rd place: Mazda 6

I think it’s the best-looking mid-size sedan. The Soul Red color is absolutely stunning. With its Kodo design, it’s one of the most attractive and underrated sedans out there.

2nd place: Kia Stinger

It’s simply beautiful – a coupe-like profile, long wheelbase, and sporty stance. It looks just as good as premium German cars but comes at a lower price. Design is its strongest point. On Copart online auctions, you can often find lightly damaged Kia Stinger that make for perfect rebuild project. It’s one of the best salvage cars for resale because beauty always attracts buyers.

1st place: Fiat 500

Silver Fiat 500 Abarth compact car parked at salvage auction

Compact and full of character, it always puts a smile on your face. My personal choice for the most beautiful car. Absolutely stunning in the Abarth trim. A perfect weekend car to treat yourself and lift your mood. On IAAI salvage auctions, Fiat 500 are often very affordable, making them a great entry-level buy for anyone who wants beauty on a budget.

No doubt, all these beautiful cars look amazing. Buying at auction can save you 30-40% or even more off retail price. But remember – everyone wants the pretty ones, and they’re easier to flip for a profit. If you’re buying to resell, design matters.
