One Tesla. Two Halves. Assembly Required.

Last edit: August 23 2026 • 10 view

Hey guys! As you know, we often look for interesting cars on Copart and IAAI to show you. There are many cars with minor damage, but of course, many cars were in accidents. The final bid can be lower or higher depending on the damage, but very often you can still get a good deal. Today we found a very interesting one. Let’s go!

What do you think about this 2026 Tesla Model X? Nothing special, right? The car looks almost new and probably has low mileage.

But look closer. This is literally two halves of one car! Tesla makes some of the safest cars on the market, and the safety numbers are very good. But this one looks like the car was cut in half! The good news is that no one was seriously hurt. Witnesses said the Model X was hit from the side and then went off the road into a ditch.

Of course, this car should not go back on the road. But not everyone buys auction cars for rebuild. Many people buy cars for parts, and this can be a very interesting option. The retail price is $132,828, which looks very strange here. At the last auction, the final bid was about $13K, but the seller’s reserve was probably a little higher. For a new Model X for parts, it can still be a good deal.

And if you buy cars at auction, you may know one small secret – the final bid at the second sale is often lower than at the first one. The seller may understand this and accept a lower bid. So if you already found a car you like, always check its sale history. It can help you a lot.

But if you think $13K for two halves of a car is too much, what do you think about this?

Half of the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMGis being sold on Copart

This 2024 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG was sold for $24.5K, and it is only one half of the car! I wonder where the buyer will find the other half, lol.

But seriously, Copart and IAAI have many good cars with minor damage or in normal wear condition. Choose carefully, ask questions if you need help, and you can find a really good deal.
