Recently, we received an interesting email from our customer Trevor. He was asking some questions about the buying process and wanted to purchase a specific car for his good friend. That kind of situation happens quite often – but this time, things turned out to be way more interesting. But let’s start from the beginning.
At first, the email looked completely normal. We get many messages like that every day. Go ahead and ask us anything! We’re always happy to help. The more you ask, the better deal you’ll get.
But this time, something caught my eye. It wasn’t the message – it was the car. Or more precisely, its retail price. I couldn’t believe what I saw!
Sometimes, the auction’s retail price can be a bit higher than the actual value, but $45K for an old Volkswagen van?! For that amount, you could buy a Ferrari! And no, I’m not joking – here’s the proof.
So I opened the lot pictures. No carbon fiber, no ultra-powerful engine, no exclusive interior trim – nothing special. “This can’t be right,” I thought.
Meanwhile, Trevor placed his max bid at $10,100. Wait, what?! He must know something I don’t.
So I decided to check the real prices for that van – and I was shocked! These vehicles have become classics, and their value keeps going up every year. Maybe this is an even better deal than Bitcoin, lol.
In the end, the final bid was $6,900, so Trevor saved $3,200 from his bid and got an amazing deal. But what I’m really curious about is the reaction of his friend when he sees his van again!
