Car prices will go down in October if…
…there will be a strike by USEC and Gulf port workers starting on October 1st, 2024. It’s not confirmed yet, but it’s very likely.
Why would this affect prices?
Car exports from the East Coast (New York, Savannah, Miami) and the Gulf of Mexico (Houston) will be shut down. Exporters will have to buy cars and ship from the West Coast (California and Washington) to avoid high storage fees at auctions and increased shipping surcharges at the East coast ports.
How can you benefit from it?
While this is bad news for exporters, it’s good news for those of us buying cars to keep in the USA. I expect fewer international buyers on the East Coast, which could make cars more affordable for U.S. buyers.

2020 Dodge Charger – $25,000 obo
Theft recovery. Low miles 28K. Retails at $43,000. Airbags intact. Needs suspension and cosmetic front-end. Not too expensive. Parts are cheap. Great project.This car retails at over $40,000.

2018 Infiniti QX60 – $7,700 obo
Clean title (pending), good mileage 72K, retails at over $18,000. No idea on issues (not a run and drive), but it was recently for sale at AutoNation. If you have mechanical knowledge or know someone, this might be a cool project with huge potential. CVT transmission is pretty cheap nowadays, btw.

2013 GMC Acadia sold at Copart for $100.
Impossible, right?! Well, great deal happens daily!
