Check IAAI date stamp before bidding
We had a guy this week who placed a bid on a 2015 Ford Escape. He really liked the mileage on this thing – just 229 actual miles. Great, right?! But the photos were taken in 2015, so the car has been sitting at the auction for 9 years. Don’t ask me why – have no idea. I’d say it is a SCAM at IAAI.

Unlike Heber, some buyers come to the website without doing any homework and immediately make a ‘Buy Now’ request on “dead” cars, like this 2003 Range Rover. I canceled the request and called the customer. The lady on the phone had no idea what she was doing. She needed an inexpensive car for daily driving, and the Range Rover looked good in the photos, and the price seemed affordable!
OMG!
A 20-year-old Range Rover with high mileage and mechanical damage for $500 as a daily driver? Well, it will be in repairs most of the time, and the final cost would be enormous. This car is good for parts only.
Every other broker platform doesn’t care about your outcome. They care only about sales! So if a “buy now” request comes in, they will most likely fulfill it. As long as you pay, the rest doesn’t matter.
I really care about your overall experience. Therefore, we’ve stopped buying these kinds of cars and deny such purchase requests. Every deal like this is a negative experience for both the customer and us!
Just check how many red flags there are: seller, damage, odometer, photos.

2009 DODGE CALIBER sold at Copart for $100.
Impossible, right?! Well, great deal happens daily!
