I had the pleasure of listening to The Rock this week at a business conference. I’ve always been a big fan of Dwayne Johnson. His career in Hollywood and his business success are amazing! One idea from him really stood out to me. He said, “What defines our success is what we do when no one is watching.”
We always have choices – easy ones and hard ones. We often go for the easy choices because they feel good in the moment. But easy doesn’t always lead to a great life. I catch myself doing the same thing The Rock talks about. I work hard all day, and at night, I just want to relax, watch a movie, or eat a tasty cookie. But I also have other options – like going to the gym or skipping the cookie and drinking water instead.
These small choices shape how our life turns out. The Rock is known for his extreme discipline and hard work. He’s a beast on and off the camera. It’s no surprise he’s achieved so much.
Can we all learn from him? Absolutely! For the next week, try tracking your actions when no one’s watching. See if you can make a better choice that leads to better results. For example, I’m going to read for 5 minutes a day instead of scrolling Instagram.
